This week, two Made in Group Patrons combined to provide a Masterclass event for members of Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire, Catax Group and Control Energy Costs.
With over 12 years' experience, the Catax team has helped claim over a quarter of a billion pounds in tax relief benefits for their clients, and are proudly the research & development Patron for Made in Group.
Fellow Patrons Control Energy Costs are expert energy and water consultants, providing tailor made utility management, procurement and support services.
Kully Nijjar, Associate Director at Catax Group, offered his expertise as part of this Masterclass event, alongside Liam Conway, Head Of Business Development at Control Energy Costs.
This event was held via Zoom and lasted approximately 45 minutes. The common theme for this masterclass event ultimately centred around “putting money back into members’ pockets”.
Liam went into detail on how Control Energy Costs can help to put money back into members’ pockets through the likes of energy savings, refunds and rebates. Whereas Kully laid out how working with Catax can fund growth and innovation through R&D tax relief and grants.
Liam assessed “What’s going on in the energy market? How bad are the price rises?” and “What can you do to mitigate the price rises?”. In terms of tax relief for manufacturers, Liam explained how to establish if you qualify and get the appropriate relief.
Finally, Liam also spoke about the “Made In Energy Club”, precisely how it works and what the benefits are for members of Made in Group.
For Kully’s segment of the presentation, members learned about “Qualification for Research and Development tax relief” and “Maximising your claim”. Kully also touched on how to reduce your chance of HMRC enquiries.
Members also learned about accurate bid writing and project managing your application, alongside hearing about how Catax Group can do an assessment of the best grant funding for you.
