Midlands and Yorkshire Manufacturers, have thrown their voice behind the fight against Covid-19. However, in a poll of over 90 members, three-fifths have reported they do not know how to ‘contribute into either the Government Programme or the NHS Directly.’

Whilst most of the country has been forced to shut down in order to contain the global pandemic, a raft of our members polled, 82% have remained open, to some extent since the lockdown was implemented by the UK government on the 23rd of March, 2020.

The survey, which was sent out to members of the Made in Group, which consists of both Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire shows that only 64% of members polled are not contributing to part of their services into making PPE for the NHS. In comparison, of those members surveyed, 36% have stated that they are contributing parts for the NHS.

Despite the efforts of those surveyed who are willing and able to use their sites in the production of equipment to support the country, the data also revealed that the same percentage of members, 64%, do not know how to directly contribute into either the Government Programme or the NHS Directly.

You can see the current results, as of Friday the 24th of April 2020, below.

This article is a brief write-up of the data that the Made in Group has collected from members over this week. It will be updated next week to reflect the views of those members who have contributed as well as the government response.
