At The Made in Group, we have made it our mission to support manufacturers and businesses alike, especially during difficult times by keeping members in the loop on how we can support their businesses. From receiving a free face mask to invitations for networking events, we strive to keep the industry safe and connected.

The devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic mean that many skilled workers have lost their jobs and face the uncertainty of finding opportunities in a recession. We have been contacting members more frequently than ever to ensure they are aware of the support we can offer. Our latest project ‘Made Futures’ aims to support businesses and individuals who are either looking for new staff or looking for jobs in the sector.

The project will see a week-long careers and skills exhibition take place in March 2021, with a permanent job advertisement feature across microsites patron to bronze. The latest feature will also link to a user-friendly central jobs board where individuals can see what job roles are available to them.

As part of the Made Futures project, we are contacting members to get involved in a number of things that benefit businesses. The first is the ‘Made Futures book’, we want members to submit articles in a bid to inspire young people to consider roles in manufacturing. The book will allow these people to get information directly from the sector.

The second is the ‘future of manufacturing mural’, we want to spread positivity through the sector by putting together a collage of people working in the manufacturing sector right now who are making a difference within their business. The aim of the mural is to be printed and distributed to members which they can then hang in their offices and have the future of manufacturing looking back at them.

And finally, we are asking members to get involved in the exhibition to cut out the middleman and give them the chance to connect directly with individuals suitable for the job roles they have available. In addition to this, to also get involved in our events such as CV writing, employability workshops and mock interviews to nurture talent heading towards the sector.
