Distinguished trade association Made in Group, championing the UK manufacturing sector, has announced a major exhibition for 2022 inline with COP26. The group hopes to educate the sector on digital capabilities after the acceleration of more and more firms utilising technology in their business processes between 2020 and 2021.

A key element of the UK government's policy ambition, following COP26, revolves around reducing the manufacturing and construction sector's significant carbon footprint. The Made in Group is helping its 400+ manufacturing members, including the likes of BAE Systems, JLR and Gardner Aerospace, to reduce their carbon footprint by taking part in a virtual trade exhibition. Utilising digital capabilities such as intelligent 3D scanning technology, the group is also encouraging them to take the brave step of showcasing their capabilities online more prominently.

The virtual exhibition ‘Backing Britain 3.0’ is an advanced digital platform that allows manufacturers to connect directly with potential customers and suppliers. This intelligent, greener way to host exhibitions opens firms up to the endless opportunities of being visible online in this format.

Manufacturing members are also reaping the benefits of 3D scanning technology by being part of the group. Made in Group is offering free 3D digital maps of a company’s facility, allowing visitors to their stand at the expo to explore the company’s capabilities and offerings. As the group is dedicated to helping manufacturing companies to take advantage of digital and jump ahead of competitors, members will be able to keep their 3D scan to use in their sales processes or simply as an online tool for website visitors.

The Backing Britain 3.0 exhibition will be hosted on www.backingbritain.com from 26th April 2022 and will be available for 365 days following the launch. Running alongside the virtual event, Made in Group members can attend networking events in Wolverhampton, Derby and Leeds from 26th-28th April 2022. Celebrity speakers Robert Llwellyn, Felicity Aston and more can be expected to make an appearance during the three days of in-person events.
