Highlighting the support of British industry Trade Association The Made in Group, have launched a two-week exhibition dedicated to manufacturers. Businesses within the industry in the Midlands and Yorkshire are proving their importance within the economy as 200+ exhibitors take part to move business forward post-pandemic.

Keynote speeches at the exhibition have seen the likes of Dr Andy Palmer former CEO of Aston Martin, Graeme Hackland CIO of Williams F1 and others. Roundtables on critical topics have also been a major part of the event.

With the devastating news that the UK has gone into recession, and being the worst to date, it is no surprise that the manufacturing sector has also taken a hit.

However, in a recent survey, predictions show that Yorkshire is set to see 9.9 per cent growth in 2021, with the West Midlands likely to rise by 11.3 per cent due to the numerous manufacturing firms in the regions. To date, manufacturing has declined by 14.2% since February 2020 but has been growing by 11.0% since May

Part of manufacturing ‘on the up’,  is due to exhibitions like Backing Britain as businesses rely on this type of promotion to attract and engage customers in their products and services. Manufacturers and businesses alike are showing their positivity and ‘can-do attitude’ by being part of such an innovative way to promote their services, whilst also highlighting their support for British industry.

This mammoth event highlights businesses moving forward after the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Every day over the fortnight-long exhibition, manufacturers and businesses alike, under the Made in Group membership, are talking live to visitors via the chat option on their virtual stands hosted on backingbritain.com. The free exhibition has allowed businesses to gain desired leads by networking, sharing best practice and promoting business.

Every weekday of the event members of the Made in Group have attended, or are due to attend, round tables on topics such as Business Growth, Smart Factories, Supply Chain Localisation and more. This is also in a bid to help businesses whilst sharing advice amongst industry leaders, focusing on key issues within the sector.

The exhibiting and participating manufacturers in the Supply Chain Localisation roundtable proved their thoughts on “Backing Britain” by agreeing that a business community, Like the Made in Group, can be effective to reroute supply chains.
