It was fantastic to see so many of our members involved at today’s Virtual Breakfast Morning, hosted by Yorkshire Profiles. The event began with a short 60 second introduction from everyone in the Zoom call, providing a bit of background about themselves and their company.
Following this, owner of Yorkshire Profiles Matthew Halliwell gave a 10 minute presentation on the company: “a teaser trailer of our story so far”. Founded in 2001, the laser cutting and sheet metal fabricators have gone under numerous expansions in their history.
2010 saw the company's first expansion, in which they entered the laser cutting market. They went under their second expansion in 2016, seeing a fibre laser installation with full automation, tripled folding capacity and the creation of a fabrication workshop. Only four years after their second capacity, Yorkshire Profiles had another expansion in 2020, with CO2 technology being replaced with much faster fibre technology which has the ability to cut thicker, faster and cleaner than conventional fibre laser.
Something which sets the York-based company apart from their competition is the heralded level of customer service they are able to provide, through blending the perfect mix of automated and human responses for their clients. The growth that Yorkshire Profiles have enjoyed has also been helped tremendously by the social engagement strategy they rolled out to help market themselves to pure potential customers; attending community awards, charity events and even sponsoring the local Christmas tree display one year.
The takeaway message which Matthew left the members in attendance with was a particularly positive and motivational one. Founded by Matt’s father back in 2001, Yorkshire Profiles ultimately owes what it has become today to a “disgruntled employee” who wanted to create something to provide for his family whilst also starting a firm which truly looked after their employees and facilitated a more supportive and positive environment than he had experienced himself.
Following this presentation, the attendees then broke off into multiple 3-4 people breakout rooms on Zoom for 15 minutes at a time, giving attendees the opportunity to network, share best practice and discuss a range of industry-related topics.
Thank you to Matthew and Yorkshire Profiles for hosting such a great event and to all of our members for bringing a level of enthusiasm and positivity to this virtual breakfast morning. It was fantastic to see you all and hear the unwavering passion you have for Backing Britain during this time.
